Why Choose Colin Turtle as your Wedding Photographer
Colin has been taking photographs for many years and is known for the ability to allow you and your guests to relax and enjoy your day .From the preparations starting at the brides home until the first dance Colins relaxed and easy going approach allows both you and your guests to enjoy the experience.
Colin will normally take a mixture of formal and informal images thus capturing the story and emotion of the entire day. He will also capture some of the detail and some images you will never realise are being taken. The style can be as modern or traditional as your wish.
Your Wedding
Your wedding day is a unique event and one of the most important days in your life. Therefore it is equally important to choose your photographer with this in mind. No matter who you choose it is vital that you feel relaxed and at ease with your choice so we always recommend that you get in touch and arrange for a consultation with Colin. .In this way you get to know Colin and can tell us what you would like from your wedding photographs. After all its your wedding.

Colin Turtle Photography only supplies top quality wedding albums Our traditional style albums are hand made Italian albums while our Storybook albums have a lifetime guarantee. We are continually looking for new and up to date designs for top quality albums.
Our range of ‘packages’ are for guidance only and there is something to suit all budgets. However if you would like something not in one of our packages please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Do we have to choose your album package at the time of booking?
No you can choose/change your package right up to within 1 month of the wedding for traditional style albums. This allows you to be aware of the latest album styles and packages available. As storybook albums are bespoke design you can change your decision on them right up until the last moment.
Why not just get a friend to do the photos?
Well if you go to hospital you'd expect to be treated by a doctor, not just someone who happens to own a stethoscope. OK not quite the same but you get the meaning. There are many people out there who are reasonably competent photographers but thats not the same as actually taking on a wedding.
Colin will normally work with at least 2 cameras, multiple lenses and flash guns was well as having backup equipment. In the unfortunate event of something going wrong with equipment will 'a friend' have any thing to fall back on. Will they have insurnace? Have they experience of Album Design? Can they supply a good album?
A wedding is a unique and important occasion and you really only get 'one bite at the cherry'. The cake gets eaten and the dress is taken off but the Album of pictures is there forever as a tangible reminder of your day..
Terms and Conditions.
All wedding bookings require a booking fee of £200 (non refundable) , 50% of the remaining balance is payable 1 month before the wedding date, the final balance is payable on delivery of the proofs.Full Ts&Cs will be provided when booking.
Do you charge for travel?
Travel is included when the destination is within a 90min radius of Ballymena. That covers most of N.Ireland - For destinations further a field and depending on the location of the wedding /reception a mileage charge may apply, but you will be notified of the rate applicable at the time of booking..
How long will you stay at our wedding?
Thats entirely your choice and can be discussed at your consultation.
So if your require Colin can attend the bride's house beforehand, and stay right through to the 1st dance . He might ask you for a sandwich though!
How many Photos?
We place no limit on the number of pictures taken although obviously this depends on the venue and the weather. T
How much time do you require to take the photographs?
We try to be as quick as possible so that the day can be stress free and you get time to spend with your guests - normally 1 ½ hours takes a lot of pictures but we recommend allowing 2 hours . It really depends on what specific shots you may require. E.g. a big group shot with everyone can take 20-30mins to get everyone rounded up.
Any remaining photos required can be taken at the reception venue.
Are you insured?
Yes! We have full professional indemnity and public liability insurance.….are you?
We suggest that clients take out wedding insurance which will cover events such as car breakdowns, hotel issues, accidents etc. It the current climate it is becoming more common for suppliers (even some hotels) to go out of business etc so If your hotel was to go out of business and you have to find an alternative wedding insurance could provide reassurance and possibly 'pick up' and additional costs. .
Online Gallery
You can now view your images and order prints from the comfort of your own home.
Additional Print orders may be placed online and payments are accepted via a secure online payment facility etc. and orders will be delivered to your chosen destination.
If we have covered an event for your ,you will be provided with an Event Number and password details.Simply enter your EVENT NUMBER when prompted in the Client Area and you will be shown a full portfolio of your images. All password protected for extra privacy(if required) . This facility is included in all our packages.
What happens if you are unable to do our wedding through illness?
Colin has reciprocal agreements with a network of professional photographers who he can call upon if need be.He is also a qualified member of one of the largest professional organisations in the world who can provide assistance .Rest assured that your wedding will be covered in a professional manner.
However you should note that to date Colin has never missed an appointment, commission or wedding due to any circumstances.
How long before we get our photos?
We try to have them ready for you by the time you get back from honeymoon - typically 2-3 weeks. At peak periods we might need a little longer .
Who chooses the photographs for our album?
YOU DO …after all it is your day and we would not dream of telling you what pictures you should or should not have in YOUR album. We are happy to provide advice should you required it.In terms of album design (once you have picked your images) Colin will provide a proof design which can then be amended prior to printing.
How long before we get our Album?
That depends on a number of factors. The actual type of album, Storybook albums typically take a bit longer than traditional albums. We try to have the initial design ready for you to approve within 2-3 weeks of your choosing your pictures. Once approved we can produce traditional albums within another 2-3 weeks . The storybook albums typically take 8-12 weeks from the time they are finally approved.
We have NEVER had an album more than 4 months from the time the prints were chosen.
Do you provide framed enlargements etc?
We can provide mounted enlargements, canvas wraps, acrylic mounts, box frames or large framed enlargements. We have our own professional framer who makes bespoke frames to measure for each print .You can order prints via the online Gallery or contact us directly.
Will you supply prints outside UK?
Of course we are happy to supply prints internationally.
Unfortunately we can only post unframed prints due to the costs associated with posting heavy framed work and the potential for damage to items containing glass.
All images will be provided with a signed Certificate of Authenticity
